Class 9B Read this

Answer this question in the space below for comments. Remember, you joined this group for a challenge.

I am feeling pretty old at the moment, another landmark birthday approaching, and I'm trying to remember what I was like when I was your age.

I want you to briefly describe one day, or one afternoon, or one evening, or even one hour, you have during this week's school holiday. You don't need to write much -- you are on holiday after all:)  But, describe it in a way that, if you read it in 30 or more years' time, you will remember the person you are now.

Or, in other words, don't just describe what you do, describe how what you do feels. If you are uncertain, feel free to write anonymously.

Blog rules: Obviously, in this format you can respond to what other people write. If you do, be respectful.

  1. I'm going to tell about one day from my school holiday. I've been playing tennis almost every day. I thought that it was fun, and good for my body to be in motion, otherwise I would probably just sleep and watch TV the whole week. I like to train, but the only bad thing is that my tennis is so far away. If I go by myself, I need to go by bus for around 45 minutes and walk for around 20 minutes. So I was always very tired when I came home. But it was definitely worth it! I play much better and I thinkt that I would be much more tired during the days if I would sleep to 12 o'clock every day. The rest of the time I have been studying a little, watching english series and just chilled. Generally that's how my school holiday have been!

It's esier to get to the trainings and it had been more fun for you to train soccer, because then, you would had been with me!

  2. I’ve been skiing in Sälen during my sports holiday, and I’m going to tell you about one time when I was at the top of the mountain, watching the great landscape in front of me.
It was quite a clear morning, the sky was blue and the sun was shining, warming my skin. I had taken the chairlift to the top of the mountain, and I was ready go down the hill. I was watching the great view in front of me. You could see far away from the spot where I was standing. Big forests were covering the ground as long as the eye could reach, and big snowcovered mountains were raising in the horizon. It was a beautiful sight!
I started to slite down the hill. The wind whistled around me, and it almost felt like I was flying. I love that feeling. When you just go with the flow, let the skis take you where they bring you. Like a soft wave riding on top of the water. You feel free and weightless, that’s what I love about skiing. You don’t have to make an effort to get down, you just let gravity drag you downhills! I guess that’s why I often go skiing with my family once a year. Because I love skiing!

  3. I’m going to tell you about one day during my holiday.
The clock was about 11 in the night, and I wasn’t really tired. I had just watched a new episode of my favorite tv series, “Pretty little lairs”. And like always after I have been watching a new episode, I’m always in chock. So I decided to watch a movie just to calm down.
I was thinking about a comedy, but then I just got a weird feeling, and I wanted to see a horror movie. I never liked horror movies, but that night I just couldn’t resist it. So I picked a movie that called “On the third floor”. It was about a woman that started to work at a hospital for mentally ill children. The children said that there was a lady that always came down too them, and she was from the third floor. The children said that the woman wanted to take them, because she was afraid that the hospital would close. But the problem was that the third floor was closed and it had been closed for many years. So no one believed them. But strange thing started too happened to the children.
And I have to say, when you see someone breaks a child’s leg and the only thing you can see is shadow and it’s after midnight, then you can really feel how your heart stops. Because if you are really scared of horror movies, like me than you would scream as loud as I did. Even my parents woke up and told me to be quiet, just because I screamed so laud. And what also made me scared was that the shadow turned into a woman, that actually were dead, and she was green with metal’s pushed between her legs and her head, and in that second I just wished I never wanted to see that movie.
And believe me that night, and the night after that, the only thing I could think of was that woman’s face, with the metal’s pushed between her legs and face! Because I have never been so scared of a horror movie, like I was that night!
The way I felt is really hard to describe, but I was really afraid, but still proud, because I managed to see a scary movie all alone, and I felt pretty brave!

    2. I hate scary movies! I just get troubles to sleep for weeks after! I guess that's why I never watch them..

    3. Nora! You are so brave! As Julia wrote.
I watched alone. But then you feel like a face is going to show up in the dark.
So i don't dare to watch any scary movies at night.

  4. I haven’t done anything particularly this holiday due to an aching knee.
But I managed to ride on my snowboard for two days.

To go snowboarding is one of my favorite winter activities. It isn’t like skiing at all.

To ride the small hills up and down is fun for a while. But when my movements are limited due to the knee and I get tired very fast just going up and down makes it hard and kind of boring after a while. Especially when I have been snowboarding in those ski slopes for barely my whole life.
Even if all those things may happen I still enjoy it. When the sun is shining and the snow is perfect like powder and no wind blowing, all I can do is wish for more perfect days like this.
To let the board take me down the hill, have the sun shining in my face and hear the sound of the board whirl through the snow is the best feeling I know with snowboarding.
That makes me calm down and to not think of all the bad things that may have happened.

As the hill goes up and down so do the sun and the energy in the body. And getting tired after snowboarding is good because then I really feel like I really gave it all.

But my knee’s health went down. And ached so much that I couldn’t ride my snowboard the rest of the time.
So basically it ended with me watching TV for the rest of the week.

    1. I know the feeling Elli! It's very bad that your knee has got worse, because when you're hurt, you can really feel useless :(

I really like your text, because you described really beautifully, and I could feel your emotions!

    3. I can really relate to the feeling you describe when you let the snowboard take you down the hill, except that I just go skiing, not riding a snowboard.
Too bad you knee got hurt! :(

  5. I'M GOING TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE YOUTH LEADERSHIP COURSE I WAS ON DURING MY WINTER HOLIDAY.
At the first day of the course had I a lot of theoretical things. We Talked about how to plan a big activity(it can be a show or a sleep over for a lot of people) and similar activities. Everything was as a normal course should be. Good food and lots of it, new people and silly name games. But this course was a bit different then the other course that I have been on. In the evening the electricity disappeared and the water supplies where very limited. So me and 23 other girls were in a cabin in the middle of nowhere without any lights and without our course leader because she went home. It was really scary because it where so dark. So we looked for candles in the kitchen, and thankfully we find some.
The next morning's weather was beautiful. The sun where shining and the birds sang beautifully. Everyone at the course ate a good breakfast together and then we learned a few things about what we should think of when we play games with small children. I learn a lot but I’m not done with this course. I have four days left to go but after that am I a fully trained youth leader!

  7. I'm going to tell you about one day during my sports holiday.
When I woke up and looked outside my window, It felt like summer because the sun was shining so bright. I was eating breakfast when my friend called me to ask if I wanted to come over. I dressed up and went over to his house. We sat at his backyard enjoying the sun. Both of us became hungry, so we decided to make some hotdogs. We took all the stuff we needed from his fridge. After that we went outside and fired up the grill. When we finished our lunch, it was so sweaty because the weather was still so good. To cool us down, we took a bath in his outdoor jacuzzi. It really felt like summer that's why I chosed to write about this day.

  8. Great that you found some candles and could fall asleep (or could you).
After a scary night it is a great thing to wake up to sunshine.

  9. -One day of my break-
When I wake up in my room that's lightened up by the sun I get warm spring feelings. After breakfast I will hit the gym for a couple of hours with my friend. Afterwards we go to the local restaurant place. We can choose everything from Thai to Swedish food to eat there. Eating after the gym must be the best feeling in the world. After lunch I take the bus home to Kälvesta and that takes about five minutes from Vällingby. Once home I watch some episodes of the walking dead. When the sun goes down and my energy starts to come back I will catch up with some friends to hang out with. Then we use to play fifa on Xbox or just sit outside and talk.
    That's a good "break day".

  10. I stood on the peak of the mountain Åreskutan. I was astonished by the magnificent view over the subarctic landscape. I felt small compared to the surroundings. It was nearly dawn and an orange glow lit up the sky above me. It was a peaceful moment in a very hectical ski day. Then I took off. It was an indescribable feeling when I skied down the mountainside. It was almost like I was untouchable. In a weird way all of my senses were disconnected and I didn’t think at all. When I finally came down I regained my ability to feel again. My legs were sore and my cheeks were frozen by the ice cold wind. However, that was my greatest off-piste ride so far.
